Day 57

No Caption Needed:)
This is why I love Paris, you never know what you will see when you turn the corner:)

Bonjour, Buongiorno, Hello,

What a bittersweet day today is.... My last on a two month long, didn't know it at the time but soul searching, life changing, confidence building, education expanding, circle of friends enlarging, culinary enrichment, personal growth trip of a lifetime, which could never be duplicated. What I thought was just going to be a fun trip to explore the world after almost 2 1/2 years of dedicating my time to education was more than I could ever imagined.
Writing this blog and the response that I have received has been unbelievable. I had no idea that my words and experiences could have an effect on so many people. All of you have made this experience so much more incredible.
I will without a doubt continue to blog as it has brought so much to my life and inspires me to see what else is in store for me.
I'm not going to lie, I am nervous to come back. I have been so busy living my life over the past two months in a non stop intense way that I feel like the energizer bunny and I don't want to slow down.
When I am on the plane tomorrow I am going to write, I never know what will come to me it just comes. It surprises me what I think about.
I would love to be able to encourage people to take risks, be brave and really feel what a blessing it is to be on this earth. I just need to figure out a way to do it:) and do it well.
I will write about tomorrow, but it may come a day late as I get back in the early evening and think I will be pretty tired, physically (as I haven't slept much) and emotionally (as I transition back). It's funny I have always said I hate going to bed the same day I have to wake up...and I have been doing that everyday since I left on January 11th. So I think I will need a good sleep:)
On this last day in Paris, and my last day on my trip, Helen and I spent it together.

Monmartre
To pick up a little Boulangerie painting that I wanted and a couple of other things we needed!!!!!

Hmmmm is that Helen with all the bags?????

Me and the Eiffel
Oh I guess I have a few bags myself:)

Look at the name of this restaurant!
Restaurant Little
Ahhhh it reminded me of my little's Lauren and Whitney

We were walking all day and just had so much fun together. It was pretty darn cold here in Paris today, I think that's why we may have purchased quite a few things... We kept having to go in shops to warm up:)

We stopped by my hotel to drop off my bags and then hopped back on the metro and met Peter (Helen's brother) and Monique (Peter's Fiancee) for dinner. We went to a wonderful little restaurant A mi Chemin.
The food was delicious and the company divine, a perfect way to spend my last night.

Cheers

Then came time to say goodbye. I think we both know we will keep in touch and see each other again so it wasn't as sad as I thought. I am looking forward to hearing all about Helen and her culinary life and chatting with her on Skype like we have done almost every night since the day we met:)

Until our next Metro stop together Helen, Au revoir

Thought for the day:
Being alone by yourself for an extended period of time, gives you the opportunity to get to know who you really are.....

  1. Bonjour Laura!! Thank you for your text last night, it was good to know you had landed safely in Chicago and that you were excited to see all your family. Can't wait to hear all about it. I am off to have my hair done, look like a woolly sheep and need to look a little like a lady when I get back to my home. See you soon xxxxxxx
