Bonjour/ Bonsoir Everyone,
When I was typing Day 25 it hit me... Wow I have been gone awhile! Long enough to be sending all these boxes back to America? I swear a couple of them are things I brought from home. The other ones.....Well, things I needed. I walked all of these boxes to the
La Poste, the third time in they said "Bonjour Laura" So get ready Lauren 5 more are on the way home.
This lack of sleeping is really starting to get on my nerves, I am up until morning almost everynight. I don't quite exactly know what's up with that. It's 12:30 am right now so I'm shooting for 1:30 tonight.
Helen and I met this morning (after my La Poste visits) and walked around a quaint little area and had lunch. It was really nice and relaxing. There are so many areas in Paris, just when you think you have walked it all you find something new.
You know how I tell you all the time about all the kissing? true so true, but today I saw this man and women, (guessing in their late 70's) and we followed them for quite a while and his hand was on her butt the entire time. Of course I took a pic. Now you know I am not joking! lol... Isn't that funny. I want to be like that when I'm their age.
At 3:30 we had a class and to our delight had Chef Patrik:) We made Ravioles de Langoustines a la Creme Mousseuse de Basilic (whew!)
Translation: Langoustine ravioli with frothy basil cream
We really didn't do the basil cream we did more like a lobster bisque sauce!
I thought I was done chopping heads off of things when I graduated culinary school. And I really didn't think I would be making lobster bisque ever again. I accidentally chopped right through the little guys eyeball, as of course I was just chopping him up. I think this will absolutely be the last time for this. Now the ravioli part was really fun and delicious. Chef also showed us his technique for Risotto and it was amazing! Of course I wanted to throw in a picture of me and my favorite chef. (At Le Cordon Bleu). Chef Vuu, you know you are my favorite Chef of all time:)
Helen invited me to her families house for dinner, we had what we made in class and salad. It was good and it was nice relaxing and talking. We always have a lot to talk about. I am really going to miss Helen. The picture is (from left to right) me, Guillaume (pronounced "gee-ohm") Helen's nephew, Peter (Helen's brother), Helen and sister in law Monique. What a nice family and it was great getting to meet them.
So, I headed back around 10:30, early for me these days and I saw more than I needed too.... As I was walking to my connecting train I see 3 guys peeing on the wall. No one was around me and it was gross and scared me a bit, so when I was out of eyesight I stepped on it like I was approaching the finish line... haha! Good thing I did because my connection was just was just pulling up as I rounded the corner. Then I get on the train and some guy is trying to talk to me in French. I say "Je ne parle pas le francais" and because I said that pretty well he kept talking. In broken english he asked me if I wanted to go dancing and I said "Je ne danse pas"( I was hoping I said I don't dance) I knew dance because he said it. Well, as luck was on my side I was at my stop. So I hopped off and was on my way. After seeing 2 more guys peeing on the sidewalk I was back at my hotel. I've seen so much since I have been here!!!!!
I have my last class tomorrow. I am sad as it has been so great being able to take classes at
Le Cordon Bleu. I am sad to be leaving Paris on Sunday as well. I have had a great time and have done so much and met so many nice people. Although, everyone says I will love Italy.
Goodnight everyone and who ever is out there reading, thanks.
Amour toujours,
Laura

Hello Laura
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to be a catholic to light candles in a church, but you are right, we light them when we say a prayer or for someone we love, I am glad you went there. I hope it brought you a little peace.
I still haven't been to St Peter's yet, but your blog reminds me that I should go.
Tonight we had our last dinner together, boo hoo!! I will miss you terribly, you are a little piece of sunshine in the grey of winter and your enthusiasm and lust for life will be missed!!
And ... you will not be in cooking classes anymore, it won't be the same.
I can't wait to hear about your Italian adventures.
Have as much fun as you can stand.
Au Revoir, Arrivederci, A Bientot
Love me
