For all of you who want me to meet a tall, dark and handsome Italian, the good news is I did.... the bad news is it was at breakfast this morning in Turino. He was getting on a plane I on a train. Not a combo that works. ha ...He did tell me Turino was a nice place. It has a river...It must be by the Egyptian Museum:) He said if we would have met yesterday he would have showed me around. I have to say I would have said yes!!!! He was nice, charming and a gentlemen, the best so far for sure:) Well HELLO Italy!!!! Actually, everyone I met in Turino was really nice and I left thinking I could give it another chance sometime. But for now on to Pisa!!!
It was snowing when I left this morning, yes it's still really cold!!! I made it to the train station and found my train so that was a good start. While on the train, (which could of used a good cleaning) I noticed that they were not announcing the stops. Even people from Italy looked a bit confused. I knew what time I was suppose to arrive so I had a pretty good idea but I still wanted to make sure, so I asked a couple and they were very helpful. They told me when my stop was coming up, which was greatly appreciated. They also said usually there is an announcement. That's good to know. Here are a couple of pics from the train. Now that is what I thought Italy would look like. While taking my bag down 3 flights of stairs and up 3 more flights to the other side I was happy I lightened my load yesterday.
I made it to the Taxi area and got safely to my new home for the next 3 days. I knew right away that I would like it here. I checked in and was immediately taken to this adorable room and was served a nice glass of Prosecco (Judy, remember when I had you looking for this when I catered your dinner?) What a great way to start my stay here. I love my room and am happy to be in Pisa. I am saving the Leaning Tower for tomorrow, but I did walked down to the river and had dinner. Everyone is so friendly. There seems to be enough to do for the next 2 days, so I think it was the perfect amount of time to be here, although I could probably stay longer just because it's so wonderful. This picture if you didn't know is the front of my hotel.... You know how I think of funny things when I am walking and I thought of this earlier.... Choosing a hotel online is very similar to Internet dating...you never know what you're going to get until you see it in person.:) I've been pretty lucky:) I'm talking about the hotels:)
Well I am going to try and make it an early night so I can get up and see as much as I can. Like everyday I miss all of you and wish you could be here with me. This has been quite an education in itself:)
L'amore sempre,
Laura
