Day 26 My last night in Paris

Hello from my last day and night in Paris:(

After another 4 hour sleepless night I got
up bright and early for the last time I would see my love for a while.... Le Cordon Bleu! I know but Chef Patrik is married:) My last class was Viennoiserie (freshly baked pastries". Helen was in my last class which was really fun and although we didn't have Chef Patrik we had another great Chef, Chef Daniel Walter. He was great and a spectacular teacher. I did get to see Chef Patrik, because he popped in a few times. Helen took a really cute picture of us, so when she emails it to me I will share it with you. I also have a picture of Crystal and I. She is a student at Le Cordon Bleu and is one of the exceptional ones. I gave her my info so when she comes to the U.S. she wants to stay with me. Then the photo of Chef Walter and I. He was great, wait til you see the picture of everything I made!!!! Then of course Helen and my last lunch at school. It was a busy day and a full day class. One more photo of all the goods I produced. I also made a box full of croissants, chocolate pastry rolls and apple turnovers. It was crazy how much pastry we were carrying out. I gave a box to my friends who work at Le Cordon Bleu, Amelie and Vincent. They always had a smile on their faces and were so nice, I know that Vincent isn't smiling in this picture, I guess this is his GQ look!!! And the other pastries I gave to my friends at the hotel. (I think they have all gained a few pounds)ha  So the last day of class was great and it was really sad to leave. I bought a knife that had Le Cordon Bleu engraved on it and a Tee Shirt. I just couldn't help it:)
I was exhausted from the week of no sleep so I went back to my room and took a nap. Then Helen called and her and her family invited me out to dinner. So I popped up, packed my suitcase and headed out once again towards the Metro. This time to an area I had never been too. My IPhone maps have been great and the compass I use on a daily basis. (I swear I'm not a geek) I use them very inconspicuously!!! Anyway I get off at my stop and the streets are changing names as quickly as I talk. I called to say I was a bit lost and Helen's brother Peter guided me with his GPS over the phone. He later met me as I crossed the Canal. I would never have found that restaurant. So thank goodness he rescued me:) Dinner was great as always and it was once again sad to leave. I made my way back to the hotel on an empty Metro. Weird! I was really sad because Steve's memorial was going on and I was sitting and focusing on it as I rode back. It's funny how things like that happen. I haven't been on an empty Metro in the almost 4 weeks I have been to Paris.
So, I got back, finished up a few things and reflected on life, as I have been doing a lot these days. Just when I was sitting, crying at our loss and missing everyone so much. And just wanting to be at the memorial Whitney sent me the picture I am going to close with today. It made me sad because it brought up so much and happy that I was made to feel part of Steve's day:) I know I have been saying it a lot lately but having family and friends like I do, is more than I could ever ask for. I feel so blessed and I think when you have as much alone time as I have, it reiterates the importance!!!
So at 1:30 am and again 4 hours to sleep, I await my next adventure. Paris I will miss you, See you again on March 8th!!!! Sorry that the pictures are all over the place in this blog. I think I am tired :)
     Sending love to all,
Con amore (I know I have to practice some Italian)
                                                    Ciao,   Laura

Steve and I when we started PSC!!!

Thought for the day:
Life can be like your most expensive outfit that you save for a special occasion and never wear or it can be like your favorite pair of boots you will wear even when it's hot and resole over and over again.
Live you life my friends, don't save it for later!!!!!
